Using MacCat

This module covers how to search MacCat, the Gabriele Library online catalog. This section contains 15 segments and will take approximately 15 to 25 minutes to complete.

When you have completed this module you should be able to:

  • recognize that MacCat contains more than books
  • find books on a topic using a Quick search and a Power search
  • find books by title, author, or subject heading
  • find journals by using a Periodical Title search
  • identify the location of books or journals
  • read a call number and use it to find items in the library
  • find an item placed on reserve using a Reserve Desk search
  • access your Library account
